Pool Decking & Coping

Let’s customize the hardscape surrounding your pool for safety and style.

Swimming Pool Coping vs. Decking

Think of coping as your pool’s crown—it’s the finishing touch around the edge, protecting the pool and providing a safe place to step. Decking, on the other hand, is the pool’s backyard—it’s the spacious area surrounding the pool where you lounge, entertain, and soak up the sun.

What is Swimming Pool Coping?

Pool coping is installed in a 12- to 20-inch swath around the pool’s perimeter that sits above the pool’s waterline, usually with a slight overhang. Coping provides structural stability for your pool and contributes to its safety by forming a ledge for swimmers to grab onto and pull themselves out of the water. Coping can be built to about hardscaped pool decking or a grass lawn. There are nearly endless options for customizing your pool coping, including concrete or natural stone pavers, organic-shaped stone, or even brick.

Swimming Pool Decking

Hardscaped swimming pool decking can be made from concrete, natural stone, pavers, or unglazed tile. Depending on your style preferences, we can advise you on the best material to not only deliver the look you want but also to provide a non-slip surface that won’t burn your feet in the hot summer sun.
