Pool Systems

The type of pool system you choose influences a swimming pool’s value, maintenance requirements, and health implications.

Types of Swimming Pool Systems

We can build custom pools with a variety of different systems to suit each family’s individual needs and preferences. If you’re unsure which system is right for you, our team can advise you on your selection so your pool meets your maintenance needs and fits your preferences.

Traditional Chlorination

Traditional chlorine involves adding chlorine manually or through a feeder to sanitize pool water, effectively killing bacteria and algae to keep the water clear and safe. Widely available and reliable, chlorine systems remain a popular choice for many pool owners. However, it requires regular monitoring and can cause skin and eye irritation due to higher chlorine levels, along with the “chlorine smell” that some find unpleasant.

Saltwater Pool Systems

Saltwater pools use a salt-chlorine generator to convert salt into chlorine, offering a gentler form of water sanitation. The softer water is easier on the skin and eyes, and the system reduces the need for manually adding chlorine, which also eliminates the strong chemical smell associated with chlorinated pools. While saltwater systems come with higher initial installation costs and the potential for salt to corrode pool equipment, they require less maintenance in the long run when compared to chlorinated pools.

Ozone Generator

Ozone generators produce ozone gas, which sanitizes pool water by breaking down contaminants. This system is highly effective at killing bacteria and viruses while producing no chemical byproducts. Ozone generators are more costly to install than traditional chlorine systems and do require regular maintenance, but they are a good choice if minimizing chemicals in the pool water is important to you. However, ozone generators are not a chlorine-free solution since they need to be paired with a residual sanitizer to ensure complete water safety.

pH Control Systems

pH control systems automatically monitor and adjust the pH levels in your pool, maintaining a balanced water chemistry that’s essential for both swimmer comfort and sanitation. The automatic pH adjustment makes pool care easier and more convenient. Our team is experienced in setting up and calibrating these systems, so you won’t have to worry about playing water chemist.
